Division 3: David Lindberg
I came to Humboldt County in 1978 to study geology at HSU. I graduated in 1981 with a bachelor’s degree, and have worked in the field of geology since that time. For the past 30+ years I have worked as a consulting geologist here on the north coast, and presently am the sole proprietor of my own geologic consulting business.
I have served on many local boards and committees, including a term as president of my Kiwanis Club. I became interested in the Humboldt Bay Municipal Water District when I served on the Water Resource Planning Advisory Committee representing the Greater Eureka Chamber of Commerce and working to ensure the preservation of the District’s water rights to the Mad River.
As a consulting geologist, I have worked in the Mad River basin from the headwaters to the coast. In the Mad River, I believe that we hold a unique and valuable resource in trust for future generations. As Directors, it is our duty, made even more important given the changing global climate, to protect it and maintain our unique resource so those who come after us may continue to enjoy the blessings and benefits of the Mad River, and the District’s water system.
My highest priority is to work for the residents of Division 3 to ensure their access to abundant clean ,safe and healthy water at the lowest cost possible. I am also dedicated to protecting the ecologic health of the Mad River basin, providing water to the underserved in our sphere of influence, and most especially to fully preserve the District’s water right.
