It has been my pleasure to work, raise my family, and retire in the City of Eureka in the last twenty nine years. It has been my honor to serve on the Humboldt Bay Water District Board for over 20 years. I have served two terms as President of the Board and I am currently the Secretary/Treasurer. I stay on the Board because I believe I can continue to contribute to our mission of providing the best quality safe drinking water to the communities we serve, maintaining the significant investment in the water distribution infrastructure, protect the Mad River water basin, and deliver water at the lowest possible cost. I am also committed to protecting the Mad River water source for the benefit of the people of Humboldt County in the years to come as water in the State becomes more valuable.
My professional background includes ten years as a city manager, four years as the Humboldt County Administrator, and thirteen years as a small business owner before retirement. During the same period I have served on the City of Eureka Finance Advisory Committee, the North Coast Regional Water Quality Control Board, and the Redwood Region Economic Development Commission. I am currently on the County Headwaters Fund Board.
As a member of the Water District Board I represent the District on the State Association of Water Agencies Finance Committee as Vice Chair. I have also been elected to the Association of Water Agencies’ Joint Powers Insurance Authority Executive Committee. This service is aimed toward protecting the Water District and water districts through out the State.
